Aquarela Hostel

The outdoor area is really beautiful and green, and breakfast was simple but complete, with a bit of everything. Unfortunately, our room smelled horribly of sewage. We complained every day, and they left bleach and air freshener, but nothing helped. Even the water seemed to smell during showers and brushing our teeth. The stay was a very bad experience, and despite us raising the issue every day, they didn't offer another option. The pousada is a 10-minute walk from the center along an easy route. But I can't recommend it, both because of the room and because parties went on extremely late with very loud music. I understand this is a cultural place, but it's also a pousada, and there needs to be more consideration about the noise.

The owners were so friendly, and our room was comfortable with great bathroom fixtures and a good shower. The pousada is a little far from the center, but taxi service is available, and we were very glad we chose it. We arrived before check-in, and the owner stored our bags and arranged the tour we wanted since we only had one day in town. It made for a very pleasant stay. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the huge camping area. The kitchen was out of service, but the site was otherwise well equipped, with hot water and a good shower in the bathrooms. Pretinho kept us company every day 😻

The family team were lovely both before we arrived and during our stay. Thanks to Fatima, Marcelo, and Maria José for helping us arrange some great tours. The sitio is close to the center, with lovely buildings set in nature and well-maintained grounds. A dog, cat, and chicken wander by, and the breakfast is fantastic. I'd gladly come back.
