Pousada Center

The hygiene was terrible. My room was full of ants, the shower pressure was very weak, and to top it off, we left with scabies. I’m still spending a fortune trying to get rid of it.

The breakfast really is quite weak, even though the staff try hard. They were always helpful whenever we needed anything. There was enough to eat before heading out on tours, with bread, cake, fruit, and juice. For the price, the pousada is fair and good value. It’s two blocks from the waterfront, with shops nearby for all sorts of needs. The rooms are small but clean, as shown in the photos. The cover bedding was very clean and smelled nice. The bathroom is small and hot, but not a major hassle. There was hot water, despite what some comments said, though the water flow was low. There’s no shower enclosure, which I already knew and didn’t mind. It delivers on location and comfort. If you spend the day out on tours and only come back to sleep, I doubt you’ll find it bad. The mattresses are new and comfortable. If you’re not fussy, you can stay without worry. At the end, the owner even drove us to the bus station in his own car so we wouldn’t have to drag our bags over the stone ground.

A really cozy room and a great place to get a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was just right too.

A terrible experience. This place is little more than a very run down hostel. We had no water for showers every day, and the old mattress had its springs showing. The breakfast area is a narrow corridor about a meter and a half wide with just four small tables, and there were plenty of other problems too. I don’t recommend it and would never return.
