Pousada Coco Verde

Everything felt improvised, and there were problems all over the place: mold on the walls, warped doors, a clogged drain, and not enough dishes or seats at breakfast. The sheets and towels looked dirty and stained, and the mattresses and pillows were old and misshapen. It’s far from everything, the neighborhood isn’t very inviting, and there’s a bar next door that plays music at an unbearable volume. I don’t recommend it. There are much better, more professional options for the same price.

We were treated dismissively and rudely. The place was neglected and dirty, and the stained bedding looked as if it hadn’t been washed. We paid for a room with air conditioning and good beds, but got a small fan and a bed that smelled moldy and had ants. THE GOOD REVIEWS SEEM FAKE AND DON’T MATCH REALITY. Don’t come unless you want to get really angry.

The best part was how warmly the owners and staff welcomed us. They were incredibly friendly and did everything they could to make our stay memorable. Our triple room had a double bed and a single bed, plus air conditioning and a wine cooler. The pousada is simple but charming, and breakfast had plenty of options, though it was basic. It’s a bit outside the center of Barreirinhas, so you’ll need a taxi to get to Avenida Beira Rio, the main spot for food. That distance may suit you if you’re after more peace and quiet.

The pousada is simple. They took it over recently and are fixing it up little by little. The service, though, was impeccable. Sr. Ribamar and Dna. Ana helped with everything I needed. I had a tour booked for the day I arrived, but my transfer was late and I couldn’t stop for lunch, so they offered me some of their own food.
