BED BUGS in several rooms. Don’t go, they completely ruined our trip. Several of us ended up with rashes and plaques all over our bodies. Even worse, the staff didn’t know what the problem was, so I don’t trust them to deal with it.

There’s lots of greenery around the beautiful property, and a lovely riverside restaurant out back. Breakfast has a good selection. The rooms are clean and come with toiletries, towels, and air conditioning. There’s also a nice little pool with a bar, plus a self-service kitchen with a microwave and tea and coffee facilities. The staff were helpful. Getting to the rooms means climbing quite a few stairs, and there are no dedicated porters. The receptionists help with bags, but in the morning they’re busy with check-outs, so it can take a while for them to come.

We booked two rooms and had a relaxing stay. The pool and pousada are lush, and the natural surroundings were lively. Breakfast was perfect, and the rooms were beautifully presented. One of our rooms felt a little small. The service was excellent, and they helped us whenever we needed it. It was a pleasant surprise.

The service was nice and the breakfast was superb. I missed having international news channels in English, such as CNN International and Euronews.

The restaurant is great, and you can eat there even if you aren't staying at the hotel. The hotel itself is decent, though I thought it was overpriced.
