We planned on a week and ended up staying two. The owner is a chef, and his dishes were fantastic. Breakfast was really complete, and the service was top-notch.

The bed in room 03 made so much noise that my wife and I kept waking each other whenever one of us moved. We also had a frustrating issue with the dinner bill. We ordered octopus, lobster, and shrimp for four adults and a child. The food was very good and the owner prepared it with care, but the dish had first been quoted at 280 reais and we were charged 380. At first he said he hadn't agreed to 280. I showed him our ZAP conversation, and then he admitted he was confused, but suggested I should have known lobster couldn't cost 280. As a customer, I wasn't obliged to know lobster prices or pay 380. We were still there at 3 pm, past checkout, so I didn't drag out the argument and paid, while making clear that he'd made a serious mistake. He should have explained the lobster price and let us decide whether to pay what was fair. I would've paid it, but putting the "blame" on the guest didn't feel right. Clearer price organization, with menus on Instagram and in the rooms, could prevent this kind of mix-up. Aside from those issues, our stay was excellent. The property has spectacular facilities and looked even better than its Instagram photos. The owners were attentive, and Júlia was very friendly. It felt family-oriented and was well organized, with clean rooms. Having a car made it easy to get to the main spots in morro branco and praia das fontes. I wouldn't return because of the poor sleep and how the charge was handled.

We loved the owner's cooking. He's also the chef, and everything had excellent seasoning. Pousada Solar das Fontes is peaceful, very clean, and well organized. Breakfast was delicious too, though self-service would make it perfect. I've stayed there twice already and recommend it. I'll be back soon.
