I hope Belem can hold on to places like this as the city keeps changing so quickly. It has an old-fashioned feel and a wonderful view over the river. The breakfast and pool are nice extras, though the hotel has probably seen better days. It’s unusual to find somewhere like this outside the big hotel chains.

The room was clean, and there was good security for my car. But the lift stopped working, and even though I use a wheelchair, they wouldn’t offer me a ground-floor room. The shower pressure was poor too.

The location wasn’t the best, but the amenities, great prices, and especially the staff made up for it. Everyone was polite, patient, and helpful. My family speaks English and the staff speak Portuguese, but they worked with us through the language barrier. When my wife was sick and needed medication the hotel didn’t have, one staff member even took a bus to buy it for her. That’s the kind of service I remember. I’d recommend Beiro Rio to vacationers, business travelers, and anyone visiting Belem, Brasil. We had an unforgettable stay.

The restaurant serves amazing regional dishes and more. It’s also right by the river, with a great view.

The restaurant food was really good, and the view of the river was fantastic. Such a nice place.
