Duque Hostel

I stopped in without an appointment and got really helpful service. The owner speaks English fluently, which made sorting out complicated travel plans much easier. She found the tickets I was looking for and matched the online price I’d seen. The whole team was professional, and I’d recommend the agency.

The location worked well for exploring, with pharmacies, a supermarket about 500m away, Vikings on the corner, and Delalê nearby. The balcony was also a nice spot to watch the avenue. I found the price worthwhile, especially for a short stay where you’re mostly out and about. The room is very small, but it had enough for my needs, and we were given towels and sheets. The kitchen has several appliances, all working, including a fridge, stove, and freezer. The lounge felt a bit neglected, with unused things left around that made it look less appealing. The main drawback was the bathroom: the shower dripped, the enclosure didn’t keep splashes away from the toilet, and it got very wet. I only saw it cleaned once during my stay. Management was slow to reply, though they did respond.

Fine if you’re mainly looking for somewhere to sleep. The rooms are basic and cramped, though clean and air-conditioned. You can book a room to yourself, but the bathroom is shared. Service was just okay: one attendant was really friendly, the other less so.

The place was dirty and looked very different from the photos. The receptionist seemed unprepared and was rude. The bathroom is tiny and shared by the whole hotel, there’s no breakfast or parking, and the information we were given was wrong and contradictory. Awful experience, I don’t recommend it.
