The room change meant packing all our things after the toilet stopped working on the first day. Then we found the restaurant, which had been advertised when we booked, was closed for another month, with no warning from the hotel. Room service was available, but the food was poorly cooked and my whole family had symptoms of food poisoning afterward. The AC also failed that night, and the next room they offered had AC that still wasn't working properly. We had just one night left, so we stayed there. We spent three nights at Hotel Sagres, and it was a horrible stay for me and my family of two. When we raised these problems, staff only said they were sorry and offered another room. Nobody offered compensation, they were unkind, and most couldn't speak English. The Wi-Fi was very poor or didn't work at all, and the interior was dated and sometimes dirty.

The location by the bus station isn't great, though it may suit travelers. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean, practical, and spacious. I wouldn't order room service from the restaurant, since it wasn't good service.

My friend's ex entered her room in the middle of the night while she was asleep. He had a keycard from the hotel staff, and she had not given permission. There was also a letter in Portuguese that none of us could read. What if he had become violent? This should never happen in a hotel. The hotel facilities and breakfast were excellent, but that incident was very disturbing. I'd rented a single room for a friend who arrived after us.

The pool is amazing, and the rooms are comfortable and cozy. There's plenty of space for meetings and all kinds of events. It's also well placed for exploring Para's capital: taxis can quickly take you to many of the city's malls, the museum, the zoo, or the historic center.

The rooms were very clean, with fresh sheets every day, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was great and free. Wi-Fi was free too, though kind of slow.
