Hotel Vivenzo Savassi Belo Horizonte

I booked through Booking.com and provided the requested credit card details. At check-in, the clerk said the room hadn’t been paid for through Booking.com and called it an issue with the site. She then told me to step aside if I couldn’t pay so she could help paying guests. I found that rude, insulting and churlish. I called Booking.com to find out what was happening. It turned out the hotel hadn’t met Booking.com’s strict credit card security protocol and chose not to, so Booking.com doesn’t process payments for the property. Three of the lifts were also out of service the morning after my first night. Between that and the hotel’s choice not to upgrade its card security, I can’t recommend staying here.

The location is amazing, everything works and is clean, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast is delicious too. Amazing value for money!

Breakfast was decent, and the staff treated us well, but the room was a poor deal for what we paid. We’d paid extra for a nicer one, yet there was nothing special about it. One towel had holes and was meant for two people. The bed had no proper blanket and only two pillows instead of the usual four. When we asked for more pillows, they said the hotel was full, and gave us a cheap fuzzy throw instead of a proper cover. The air conditioner kept switching on and off, so it was hard to sleep, and the TV had no signal or cable channels. I know prices were inflated because it was a busy weekend, but paying so much for a cheap-feeling hotel made that worse. If the city hotels hadn’t been full, we could’ve found this kind of place for half the price. Terrible value.

I was so disappointed. The rooms were filthy, and the walls were so dirty they looked like someone had been murdered there. It felt spooky. The price may be low, but it isn’t worth it. To me, it was comparable to guaicurus in lower central zone bh. Staying here was the worst idea I’ve had in my life, and I’ll never come back to this hotel when I’m in Belo Horizonte.
