Royal Boutique Savassi

Savassi is a great base, with nice restaurants and everything else I needed within walking distance. I came from Phoenix, AZ and spent a week here. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, professional, and spoke English. Housekeeping was punctual and thorough. Breakfast had a great selection, and the taste and quality rivaled any hotel I’ve stayed in. The lunch buffet also offered lots of options, tasted excellent, and was very reasonably priced. The gym wasn’t much to brag about, so I got an inexpensive one-month membership at another gym 10-12 minutes down the street. I paid about what I’d pay for a typical hotel in the US, but got 4-5 star service and amenities. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Belo Horizonte!

The hotel’s location is great, and the rooms are good, though the bathrooms could use refurbishment. The staff don’t speak good English, and only one guy was helpful. I was charged extra for an upgrade I hadn’t taken, needed, or asked for. I emailed the manager and still haven’t heard back. Be careful booking the superior or luxury rooms. There’s no difference between them, and superior actually gets you a better room than luxury. Breakfast was disappointing too. I stayed 5 or 6 nights, and there was no variety at all.

On my first visit to Brasil, the customer service was very kind and went above and beyond to help me.

The people working there were super friendly, breakfast was good, and the location is great. But the rooms are very old, the bed in particular was really uncomfortable, and the room wasn’t very clean. It was disappointing.
