The staff made me feel welcome right away and were incredibly accommodating. I also loved having amazing food and a great atmosphere at the onsite restaurants, without needing to leave the property. TRIBE Belo Horizonte Savassi is conveniently placed right in the middle of things, while still feeling like a relaxing escape. My whole stay was fantastic from start to finish, and it’s likely the best hotel in Belo Horizonte. If you’re after a top experience in BH, this is definitely the place to book.

The rooms are boutique sized, and the sliding metal bathroom door is a little loud and annoying, though fine for a few days. Everything else stood out: the location, staff, onsite restaurant, and rooftop bar. The front desk staff gave us a very warm welcome every day, and you’re right in the middle of places to see and eat within easy walking distance. Definitely try the rooftop bar for great cocktails, service, and views of BH. The downstairs restaurant serves Minas Gerais food and drinks, has excellent offerings, and requires a reservation.

I was in Belo Horizonte briefly for business and was glad to find this new gem in the heart of the city. The fresh, modern design feels comfortable and contemporary in the lobby and common areas, and the gym and room amenities are very good. I’d suggest having breakfast at one of the many places a few blocks away. There are plenty of options for food and drinks at night too.

The building and setting are nice, and the rooms are new. They gave me an early check-in when I arrived, which was a positive. The rest was frustrating. The cleaning was poor, with dirty floors, no vacuuming, and no soap used. Coffee and tea weren’t restocked every day. The reception clerk charged me 100 times the actual room price, and my bank blocked my credit card because of the mistake. I emailed management, but no one seemed to care. As a silver member, my welcome drink option was only cachaça, which I don’t like. The bartender strictly refused to switch it for another spirit, so I ended up with no drink.

We had a very unpleasant five-night stay. I’m an Accor Gold member and have stayed in Accor hotels across three continents, always satisfied with the service and standards. This hotel and its staff need serious improvement and training. The location is decent, on a busy street in Lourdes, not directly in the upscale Savassi neighbourhood as the misleading name suggests. First timers to Brazil should know there are several homeless people camping on the sidewalk on the same street, which is unfortunately common in Belo Horizonte. Check-in was slow but otherwise okay. Despite my Gold Status, we got no free room upgrade, welcome drink voucher, or courtesy points. The first room was acceptable, though the hotel is another case of design over function. The shower doors don’t close properly, so water gets all over the room. There are no towel hangers in the shower, only in the detached toilet, so you have to walk out wet to reach them. Sound insulation was disappointing for such a new hotel, and trucks, cars, and motorcycles passing by woke us every morning. The towel bar by the sink in our second room was already broken, despite the hotel being only two months old. The bed was comfortable, at least. The rooftop bar looks appealing, but the service was inefficient and arrogant, and drinks were brutally overpriced at 60R$ or more. That’s over 10 US Dollars/Euros in a country where prices are usually half or less than in Europe or the US. The bar manager asked my partner for her private phone number "for registration." I offered our room number since we were hotel guests, but he insisted on the phone number because the bar wasn’t directly linked to the hotel. That’s strange when the hotel advertises it as part of the property. The worst part was reception and customer service. After our first night, there was a disgusting sewage smell coming from the bathroom. When we reported it, they only said, "Let us know if the problem still persists tomorrow," so we spent another night in the room with the smell. We told them the next day it was still there and unbearable, and they said they’d send someone to fix it. It wasn’t fixed, so we asked to move. At another hotel, as a Gold member, I’d expect an apology and a room upgrade at that point. Instead, they seemed annoyed and offered a smaller room on a lower floor, saying there was no availability. I checked the Accor app and showed them better rooms were available. The woman at reception rudely replied, "but this is not the category that you have booked." Unbelievable. They then moved us to another, smaller room on the same floor as the original, which we had to accept. We never felt welcome. This was by far the worst hotel service experience I’ve had, especially as a loyal customer. Everyone except Mr Rogerio was unprofessional and immature, acting as if guests should feel happy and grateful to stay in "their" fancy wannabe lifestyle hotel. They never provided acceptable service to paying, loyal customers. Avoid this hotel.
