Pousada Costa Mare

Being right on the beach was the big plus. We found a room for three at the last minute for an affordable price, and parking was available. The room was clean and tidy, with working air conditioning and a fan, and it suited us well. There’s a shared kitchen, but no other services such as breakfast. The private bathroom was spacious, though the shower holes were clogged and barely any water came out. We also missed having a floor squeegee and cloth to deal with all the water tracked in after the beach, which made the floor slippery.

The location is good, close to the beach, but I don’t think I’ll come back. I booked a room with air conditioning through Booking, but when we arrived, the unit was broken. They had a portable one there, which was noisy and didn’t work very well. The proposed solution was for me to leave and get a refund for the current night. On our first night, we had no water from 3 a.m. until 8 a.m., possibly because someone hadn’t filled the water tank, since the pump has to be switched on for that. The parking lot doesn’t have space for every car, though there are other spots on the next block. There are nicer options on the same block if you look around.

The staff, including the reception team, were really attentive, and the room I stayed in was in great shape. It could fit five people and was very well organized. I liked it a lot. And yes, it’s right on the beach!

The location is the only good thing here. There’s no water coming from the shower, the TV doesn’t work, and the Wi-Fi won’t connect. There are no staff around to ask for a towel or blanket, the kitchen water filter doesn’t dispense water, and the shower by the entrance gate for washing off beach sand doesn’t work either. The place feels completely abandoned.
