Pousada Villa Dom Carlos

The park view is lovely, and you're right across from Vila Germânica, with great restaurants nearby. The rooms are cozy and have air conditioning, though the weather was cool enough that I didn't need it. The breakfast is basic but has what you need. I felt comfortable there, it's close to everything, and I'd recommend it.

The location is close to everything, but the rest was pretty weak. The room had no blackout curtain, the bathroom had no shower enclosure or hooks for towels, and there was nowhere to put shampoo or soap. Breakfast was also poor: stale bread, the same fruit every day, watermelon and melon, and margarine. There was cheese and ham, at least.

If you want to get frustrated, this is the place. They pressure you to pay in advance, then when you decide you can't stay because the bed is extremely uncomfortable and the place is noisy and messy, they take almost a month to return your money. My advice is to find somewhere else.

Carla welcomed me warmly, and the place was very clean and organized. It's quiet and close to everything. I'll definitely come back.
