The breakfast was truly outstanding, though service at the restaurant could be slow at times. The pool was especially nice, and the hotel amenities were good overall. Our room was a little old, but that didn’t really affect us. We did have to wait around 30 minutes or more when the door lock stopped working, even with the master card. Someone had to come fix it. That’s a hassle when you’ve had a long day and just want to rest, and the doors seem like they could use more regular checks and maintenance. I also lost the bill for the hotel charges, which I needed for reimbursement from my employer. I emailed the hotel three times and never got a reply. Customer service wasn’t a strong point.

Carla was so good at the breakfast bar. The tapioca was lovely and the omelette was delicious.

The hotel is in a good area, but getting in can be chaotic because the ramp is so busy. The rooms are small and old, and the floor badly needs an upgrade. The entrance to the hall could use brighter lights too. Some employees were cordial and others weren’t; the service in general was okay. Paulo from concierge really stood out, though. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable and help with our requests, and deserves a round of applause. We were moved to another hotel, which we loved. The staff were very polite and understood when we said we wanted to leave. This hotel seems more suited to business meetings and that kind of thing.

The pool area was beautiful, and we had a fantastic stay at Mar Hotel Conventions. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was delicious. It was also handy for nearby attractions and getting to the airport. They even had their own live music for Carnaval. Muito obrigado.

The location was fantastic, an easy walk to the beach with shops and restaurants nearby. The airport was less than 10 minutes away by car, which was a real help with my 4 a.m. flight since I could sleep as long as possible. The rooms were great in both the newer and older tower, and the rates were super cheap. A five-day suite cost me about what a weekend at home would. The hotel was nice and clean, though the washroom could’ve used a deeper scrub because there was mold in the grout and caulk. The breakfast buffet had lots of variety and tasted good. The pool was amazing too, but it was a shame the swim-up bar and part of the waterfall were closed. I visited in winter in Recife, so maybe that’s why.
