Bombinhas Guest House

The big tub and good hydro were the bright spots. The musty smell was awful, and I couldn’t sleep. It felt like I was suffocating, and there was no way to open a window since it faced a passage where people walked by. The bathroom window looked out onto the door of the other suite. Breakfast was really poor. The orange juice tasted like water and sugar, which I’d never seen before. I left early and went straight home, exhausted after a bad night. I was too tired to enjoy the town as planned. I wouldn’t recommend it or come back.

We really liked the pousada, and the staff welcomed us warmly. Our room was clean, and we had the Refúgio Romântico suite with a bathtub, which was wonderful. There was a tasty breakfast with plenty of variety, and Bombinhas beach was close enough to walk to. The downsides were the guests in the next suite playing loud music and talking loudly in the hallway while we were trying to rest. The TV also didn’t get any channels, so we couldn’t watch anything.

The staff were generally poor, the room cleaning was superficial, and on most days the Wi-Fi was practically nonexistent. The pool area was full of leaves and never got cleaned, so we didn’t want to use it. The place is picturesque, but dirty. We stayed six nights with my husband and son. The rooms were smaller than they looked in the photos and badly needed maintenance. The comforters were stained, the pillows didn’t smell clean, and every towel was stained. It seemed they weren’t disinfecting them with bleach. Our little balcony was filthy too. Breakfast was disgraceful, basically just flour. Instead of restocking the limited food, staff ate breakfast alongside guests. Getting around was difficult because parking in Bombinhas is a problem and you have to do everything on foot. The hill was exhausting to walk up and down. I know where we shouldn’t return. I don’t recommend it and would never go back.

The photos make the hotel look gorgeous, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The room was supposed to be clean when we arrived, yet there was hair all over the floor. They said the whirlpool had just been filled, but there was still plenty of dirt and hair in it, and the water looked a bit yellow. I think it may have been rainwater. The pool was covered in leaves and the water smelled really bad. Breakfast was simple, but okay.
