Pousada Morada da Praia

The breakfast was weak, and the same problems came up each of our three days there. It was the same food every day, the mineral water served with breakfast was warm, and there was no ice when we asked. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and even looked greenish. The boiled eggs sat carelessly on a hot tray, and many were burnt. My biggest problem was the shower water. It smelled of chlorine, and the steam alone made our eyes sting. My wife uses an acidic cream as part of her skin care routine, and when she put her face under the shower, the water BURNED the area around her eyes. It was red after the shower and dark over the following days. We had to buy eight 5-liter jugs of mineral water to bathe. We complained at reception and were told it was city water and nothing could be done, but people we spoke with at restaurants and a real estate agency hadn’t had any complaints about the city water. The bed was hard, and the pillows were very thin and uncomfortable. Then, on our last day, we checked out at 11am but stayed to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. We asked reception for a fresh beach towel so we could rinse off the salt before heading to the airport. He said lending us even one towel was already a favor, though there were two of us. I kept wondering what difference one extra towel would make to the hotel. It felt like total carelessness toward guests and no empathy for customers.

The price was quite economical for Bombinhas in high season, and the simple inn offered satisfactory comfort. Good service and location helped make the stay satisfactory overall. We stayed from 07/01/26 to 14/01/26. Luciano and dona Dalva were very hospitable and helpful. The inn is right in the center of bombinhas, near restaurants, markets, pharmacies, and just about anything else you might need. Bombinhas beach is only 400 meters away, and 4 Ilhas beach is 1.2 km away, so we hardly needed the car except to visit farther beaches like Mariscau and zimbros. There were some drawbacks. The shower barely had any water pressure, which made bathing a problem. The apartment window was glass, and the curtain didn’t block much light, so by around 5am it was already hard to keep sleeping. We also didn’t see the pool being cleaned during our week there. The water was always cloudy, which made the pool very unappealing.

The hosts are really attentive. The rooms are small but fully equipped, and the place has what you’d expect from a pousada, including parking, a pool, and games.

I picked this place for its peaceful feel. There’s lots of lush greenery, and even though the property is small, it’s very calm. The pool is large and has a jacuzzi, and there’s plenty of parking. The staff were especially attentive throughout my stay, always helpful and friendly.
