The location is a big plus, very close to the park, and the hotel is beautiful, with two lovely pools, a sauna, and a jacuzzi for unwinding. This was my second stay at Clara Arte Hotel, and I’d absolutely return. Check-in was easy, and the staff were attentive throughout. Carol is especially on top of things, as is Dhom. The buffet meals were varied and very good, which made things easy after a full day at Inhotim. A great choice for solo travel or a group.

The visit to Inhotim foundation was organized absolutely perfectly by the hotel, and I can’t thank the team enough. Tiago was our guide for the day. He’s intelligent, knowledgeable, and had just the right tone throughout. Spending the whole day with him was a real pleasure, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend him. Having a golf car made a huge difference and let us see so much more. I was just as dazzled by Inhotim. The hotel’s architecture is fantastic, the staff are very good, and the food was delicious. Thank you again, and I wish the whole hotel team a very happy 2026. Gilles & Manuela et Alma de Poix from Paris, France

The staff were very friendly, and the location is unbeatable for making the most of a visit to Inhotim. We booked two nights, then added a third so we could spend three full days in the park. Visiting on Monday and Tuesday was no problem for us, and I think we managed to see about three quarters of the park. My one complaint is the music. The atmosphere would only get three stars from me because the music was so annoying. I don’t understand how Brazilians put up with popular songs adapted into Bossa Nova versions. Please choose music with a bit more class.

The Clara Art Trap. Don’t go on Monday or Tuesday! The rooms and pools were great, including the sauna and steam room, but the stay felt like being in a luxury prison. The hotel doesn’t tell you when booking that the museum is closed two days a week. On those days, you have to join a guided walk with 72 other people and one guide, and you see barely 5% of the park per day. Each exhibit meant waiting 30 minutes while all 72 people took turns. At one point, two parents with a newborn were told they couldn’t wait in the shade because the group had to stay together. That museum experience spoiled the whole trip for me, and I wouldn’t return. For the price, a lot of things also felt budget. There’s only buffet service, and the food was okay. Nobody asks what you want to drink, so you have to find a staff member. Check-in and checkout lacked the personal welcome and attention I’d expect from a top hotel. Checkout is done at a machine, maybe because they don’t want to hear feedback. Workmen also disturbed us repeatedly by going to the wrong room. I left massively disappointed and let down, and don’t think it was worth the price.

I had some check-in problems, but management dealt with them quickly and seemed genuinely keen to prevent a repeat. They also seemed open to feedback, such as adding a QR code or price list in the room for minibar items. It might be better to include some of those items in the room rate, as some other luxury resorts do. The hotel’s direct access to Inhotim makes its location unbeatable, and the property is beautiful, with thoughtful architecture and interior design. I stayed in May. It’s a little pricey, and meals are included as a buffet, but the price doesn’t change if you’re staying alone. The buffet had lots of food, and I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian and salad choices. There’s also a nice gym, indoor and outdoor pools, and a spa, which made for a relaxing stay. Inhotim is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but the hotel offers guided tours on those days. It’s a great idea, though there were many people interested during my stay, which slowed the visit down. If you’re considering it, keep your expectations modest and ask which parts of Inhotim the tour will cover so you can plan. On other days, you can go in on your own through the direct access. I’d return.
