I remember the Malibu hotel as a huge hotel back when we had a house in Prainha, about 11 km away. I used to visit friends in apartments around FORTE, and we spent more time at the beach. The fort stood by the wing and left side of the beach, as I remember it. I've seen similar forts in northeastern Brazil. This one was involved in a battle long ago, with a house, shelter, walls, and cannons to defend the bay and attack boats coming in. I remember the cannons and heavy balls, and fire exploding as it hit enemy boats. The beach is the best, calmer than Búzios and different from Prainha. It's very big and long. The tide is nice, and when we were kids there were a few waves for our boards, though today the waves are probably few and small. If you're looking for low tide, a big stretch of sand and shore, snacks, plenty of beer and drinks, this is the place. The hanging area was already crowded back then, and it's probably impossible today. There's no parking anymore. I'd suggest staying at Malibu hotel. It's probably expensive as always, but you can enjoy a sunny day at the beach and the place.

The restaurant and accommodation are very good. It's right across from Cabo Frio's beach, which is beautiful and has great facilities for tourists. I recommend it!
