Pousada La Portella

We felt really welcome here, and the place had a warm, home-like feel. The staff were so friendly, especially Francisco, who helped us with everything. The receptionist was also happy to bring us ice and hot water for our mate. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and had a good variety. The rooms were cleaned every day, and the facilities felt modern and comfortable. It's just steps from the beach and shopping center. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

There's no parking, but the street in front still has no meter, so we left the car there for free. A nearby lot on the street behind charged R$80 per day. The inn is well placed, less than a 10-minute walk from Praia do Forte and the little market, with cafes, restaurants, a pharmacy, and Shauwarma Cairo nearby. Sr Francisco at reception is very friendly. Breakfast was delicious, with homemade food that was well prepared. The dining area is small, though, and you have to book a 30-minute slot starting from 7:30 a.m. The shower pressure was weak and could use a booster, and the toilet had a lingering urine smell.

We spent two nights here and found it convenient for exploring Arraial. The inn is modern, with air-conditioned rooms and comfortable mattresses. Service was great, breakfast was good, and being close to both the beach and town center was a big plus. I'd definitely come back.

The breakfast was excellent, with homemade dishes and a different menu every morning. The rooms are lovely, and the location is convenient, a few blocks from Praia do Forte, about an 18-minute walk from the Passagem neighborhood, and close to shops and restaurants. Cleanliness was the letdown. Our bathroom was dirty when we arrived, and after we asked for it to be cleaned during our stay, they only changed the trash bag.
