Pousada Marília

Top place.

We went as a family for a weekend to relax while waiting for my baby, who was almost due. The calm atmosphere was just what we wanted, and the view was beautiful. Being able to enjoy both the pool and the beach was a real plus. Breakfast was another highlight, everything tasted great. Nath and Simone were especially warm and caring, and made us want to come back. We'll return for sure. I only wish the rooms had smart TVs and softer mattresses.

Pousada Marilia is a pleasant, peaceful place, and the staff, especially Simone, Juliana, and Natiele, were wonderful. But the maintenance is badly overdue: there were major leaks and a wooden ceiling that felt dangerous. After a week there, with the weather worsening and the city flooding, I asked to stay two more days. The pousada was empty, but they turned down my offer of 1000. My room was leaking badly, and the owner was there while I had to head out in the rain with my three-year-old. I booked another pousada across the street. Only after I was settled there did they call to say they would accept, for the same amount I'd offered. I left feeling really upset. I was crying when I left because the owner wasn't even empathetic enough to let me wait for the rain to pass. I got a no.

We had a great week there at the beginning of November. The place was welcoming, just as advertised, with a lovely sunrise and really good service. Dona Simone was especially lovely and puts a lot of care into everything, including her cakes, which brought back childhood memories for me. When I got a flat tire in the parking lot and couldn't manage with the wheel wrench, an employee stayed with me and helped until it was sorted. The room could use a small improvement, but it was within expectations and didn't spoil the stay. We'd happily return for the good feeling and comfort of the place.
