I wouldn’t give this place any stars. There are so many problems. Don’t trust the photos: any attractive pictures of the pousada are old and don’t reflect how it is now. Everything is neglected, it smells bad, and the construction looks unfinished. The water went out more than once. Our room had just one power outlet for eight people. They don’t provide basic hygiene supplies. There was no bath mat or hand soap in the bathrooms, and toilet paper was provided once every two days. Bed linen might as well not exist, and the mattresses are very thin. The pool table seems to be there just for show: one side is broken, it’s uneven, and there’s only one cue, all chipped up. The wobbly pallet stools have lots of wood splinters. The room fan was either far too weak or unbearably noisy. It sounded like a helicopter above the bed.

The place felt run-down from the moment I arrived. My room had cockroaches and a broken windowpane, and the pool was so dirty I didn’t even get in. Breakfast was awful, with flies landing on the food. They don’t provide sheets, pillows, towels, or even toilet paper. I’d give the place zero stars and will never go back. If you’re brave enough to stay, bring plenty of insect repellent.

The house was filthy, and the pool was dirty too. The rooms had leaks and bunk beds that looked like chicken perches. Their bathrooms were even worse, with dirt and a bad smell from the drains. All in all, it was more like a hostel than a house, and the worst place I’ve ever seen.

There are lots of rooms, but some are decent and others are in bad shape. When I went, some had no electricity, shower, door, window, or fan, so you might get lucky enough to sleep comfortably. I heard the place had recently been renovated, but it was still like that during my visit in 09/18. One bathroom on the second floor, at the end of the corridor on the left, had a wonderful shower. The pool is good and large, and the barbecue area is great.
