Vila dos Orixás Boutique Hotel

The beach looks lovely, but the swell leaves it so shallow that swimming is barely possible, which was a letdown. Restaurant service was slow, and many menu items were unavailable much of the time. At this price, I expected more. The experience felt basic and poorly managed. Nobody explained the hotel or its facilities when we arrived, and around 90% of the staff don't speak English, making even simple requests difficult. The place seems to depend on its image and location, while the service doesn't come close to matching the cost.

It’s about 30 minutes from the center by 4x4, which worked for us since we wanted to relax. Just know that at low tide you can’t get into the sea. The hotel itself is great, not too big, and the service was excellent. The restaurant had a good selection of typical Brazilian dishes, and the food was really good. Our room was spacious and well kept, with a nice tub.

Came back for lunch for the second year running. The view is great, the food was superb, and the taxi ride out there was worth it.

The beach is magnificent, with lovely sand and hardly anyone around. The restaurant and its service were excellent. Getting there is a different story: the hotel is far from everything, and the Land Rover ride is bumpy and dusty, with no air con. The rooms were okay but need better lighting. There was no hot water or coffee in the room, and breakfast doesn't start until 8:00am. If you don't speak Portuguese, you'll need Google translate. The pool is beautiful, but it's packed with mosquitoes and you'll be their lunch.
