I really liked how clean and well kept the hotel looked. The rooms seemed new, were very comfortable, and had well-equipped bathrooms. The building is pretty, with a lovely garden, and the restaurant desserts were tasty, especially the pudding. The pool situation was frustrating. The outdoor pool is beautiful, but it isn't heated, so in cold weather you can't really use it. Recreation also seemed nonexistent. Otherwise, there wouldn't have been kids filling the heated pool with their parents in the middle of the afternoon, or yelling and riding scooters outside our room at night while we were trying to rest. The food was a gamble. The salad was fresh and good, but the rice was hard, the fish was past its best, and the beans were watery. The golf courses surrounding the hotel are gorgeous, with bright green grass, but guests who don't play golf can't walk on them, understandably for safety. Still, with all that greenery, why not set aside a patch where kids can play? That could have given them somewhere to have fun and might have avoided the first two problems I mentioned. The receptionist even confirmed there was nowhere I could play on the grass with my baby. That's absurd. It's a clear case of grass everywhere, but guests can't use it. And charging R$40 a day for parking feels petty, even if it isn't a lot. Someone in another review said the charge was for security, but does that mean the hotel itself isn't secure? Shouldn't that already be covered by the room rate? It makes no sense, and I've never seen a resort charge separately for parking. I'd rather save a little more and go to another resort with better facilities and a better restaurant.
