Eco Pousada Sinimbu

I could see a surprising range of wildlife during my stay, from black-tailed marmosets and guans to agoutis, tanagers, thrushes, hawks, woodpeckers, and howler monkeys. Ecopousada Sinimbu is made up of two old houses that mirror each other, joined by a wide veranda looking straight over the Rio Paraguai. The place is simple and has no luxuries, but it had all the comforts I needed.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean and orderly, which was the bright spot. When I arrived, though, the place looked abandoned, with lots of leaves in the garden and a worn facade, and most of the time nobody was at reception. Breakfast was supposed to be at 7:00 but came at 7:30. Hotels usually serve it at 6:00, since many guests are traveling and need to leave early. There was a lot of noise from the other rooms at night. When I checked out, reception was empty, and the person handling breakfast had to take care of the checkout process too. The owners need to keep a closer eye on things.

The room was really comfortable and very clean, and breakfast was fresh, tasty, and very good. The place itself is beautiful, with well-preserved wildlife and vegetation. The staff were great, especially Gabriel, who was always friendly, helpful, and ready to assist or point us in the right direction. I highly recommend it.

I didn't stay overnight, but the view is beautiful and you're right in the middle of nature. From the balcony, you can spot small animals coming into the bay to feed, and a walkway leads down to the banks of the Rio Paraguai. It's a lovely place, and I'd recommend seeing it.
