Breakfast was a real highlight, with lots of fresh, tasty options that seemed carefully prepared. We were there as a couple on holiday, and Sambas Pousada turned out to be a great choice. It's in a fantastic spot close to everything, though it's a busy area with plenty going on. We loved waking up to that beautiful view each day. Great value and a lovely atmosphere, and we left with happy memories. We'd gladly return and recommend it.
My husband and I came here in October for our wedding anniversary. The staff made the stay feel especially romantic, and the property itself is beautiful. They really went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. It felt perfect for us, and we're already talking about coming back.
We wouldn't recommend this place, and for what I paid, it wasn't worth it. If you're hoping for even a somewhat quiet stay, look elsewhere. My husband and I don't mind some noise and enjoy going out, but the music blared late every night, and loud construction-like sounds started early each morning. Light sleepers, or anyone needing peace and quiet, will probably struggle. The service was another disappointment. When we arrived at 11 a.m., tired after traveling since 6 the previous morning, we asked about checking in early and even offered to pay for half a day. The woman at the desk said she would check us in, then told us it wasn't possible. She was rude and said it wasn't up to her. Asked who could decide, she said it was her manager, but she wouldn't even ask because she already knew the manager would say no. There was no sign of empathy or effort to help. The rest of the staff weren't friendly either. They barely acknowledged us when we came or went. I'm from Bahia, and the breakfast wasn't great. They didn't have traditional food like cuscus, despite saying the options rotate daily. The Wi-Fi was awful too, so I eventually gave up and used mobile data. The hotel next door is much better and has a better breakfast.
The location works well if you're looking to party. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was okay, though basic and not especially healthy. But the pousada didn't tell us it wasn't suitable for a family with kids. The music was so loud late at night it felt like a band was playing on our bed. Wi-Fi never worked during our stay, even though they say they have internet.
Be careful booking here. The lights and air conditioning weren't working during our stay, and they still expected us to stay without a refund. The manager was rude, and the hassle wasn't worth it.
