Aroeira Eco Pousada

Aroeira Pousada felt like a peaceful oasis even though it's on the main walking street. We stayed at the highest point of the inn, with a lovely ocean view and a calm atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious, the price felt very reasonable, and everything had a relaxed, cozy feel. The hospitality was warm and genuine from the moment we arrived. If you like body surfing, the waves right in front are perfect. We walked the whole island and can confidently say it's the best spot for that. The ownership changed recently, and I can't agree with the reviews from six years ago. I'll definitely stay here whenever I return to the island.

The price might make this an okay option, but the 150 euros a night we paid was far too much. If I return to Morro, I'd look elsewhere. Around the first beach, I found too many shops, loud music, and tourists, so I'd choose somewhere quieter, perhaps near third beach. The breakfast wasn't great: cheese and ham together, then mostly sweet things, and the quality wasn't the best. There was also a huge live worm behind the bathroom door, which was disgusting and made me think the room hadn't been cleaned properly. The receptionist on our first two nights didn't make us feel welcome or comfortable, though the person on the last night was very nice. The room notice said there was an extra charge, with the price listed, to have towels or sheets changed daily. I understand the ecological reasoning, but for what we paid it didn't feel appropriate, and they could communicate it differently.

The location was quiet but close to everything, and the room had a lovely view with waves audible nearby. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the thoughtful details, from cleanliness and freshness to plush toys, stood out. Breakfast was a huge, generous, varied buffet. We loved the pool and jacuzzi, and they even made a birthday cake for my boyfriend.
