I liked the beach, even though the weather wasn’t great and the tide was very low when I went. Fifth Beach, or Praia do Encanto, is quite remote. We walked about 7 km from the start of Third Beach, one way, and it was tiring. There isn’t as much infrastructure here as at the other beaches.

The beach is beautiful. You can walk there along the sand at low tide, about 7 km. Barraca Carapitangui offers a transfer back to Morro if you spend $70 there. That seemed fair to us, and the food at the stall was fantastic.

The 4th is quieter. I loved it early in the morning, but by afternoon I was disappointed to see 4x4s, motorcycles, and quads bringing in tourists who didn’t want to walk.

The beach itself is gorgeous, especially the wide stretch of sand at low tide against the blue sky. It’s far from the busy beaches near Morro village, and there aren’t many places to stop for a beer or snacks. But at the mangrove at the far end, I found an absurd amount of plastic. Such a sad sight.
