My first trip to Brazil left me amazed by its cultural, natural, and culinary richness, and by how simple and courteous the locals were. I’ll definitely come back to Gamboa and stay at Pousada "Chic 'n Choc" again. It’s the kind of place where you feel at home. Gamboa is a small village by the sea, quieter and more relaxed than nearby El Morro, which is known for nightlife and beach parties but feels much more touristy and less original. I was glad I chose Gamboa for its slower, more untouched feel, and Roberta and Giana's Pousada was the best choice there. Giana and her mother, Roberta, were born in Italy and moved to the island 30 years ago, well before it became what it is now. Roberta really seems like a pioneer. They run the inn with the care of people who have made a dream into a way of life. Meeting them helped me understand more about the culture, daily life, and contradictions of this wonderful place. I spent three weeks at Pousada "Chic 'n Choc" in Gamboa, and it felt like paradise, with relaxation, hospitality, and beauty all around. The inn is lovely, with a big, bright, breezy patio about 100 meters from the sea and a wonderful view of green vegetation and white sand. The rooms are spacious and light, with distinctive colonial-style furnishings and the basic comforts you need. My favorite time was early morning, before the sun had risen, enjoying a generous, delicious breakfast on the patio looking out to sea. THANK YOU

The bird calls in the morning and that gorgeous view were wonderful. We were a group of friends traveling with children, and dona Roberta was so attentive and welcoming. She made adjustments for us and suggested the best option for our group. The staff were kind, and everything else was impeccable, from the service and bedding to the air conditioning and breakfast. We’ve visited Gamboa many times, but this was our first stay at Pousada Chic'n choc. We’re very grateful and hope to come back again, God willing.

The natural scenery around here is stunning. Chic 'n Choc Pousada is a warm, lovely place and good value for the price. One of the island’s prettiest beaches is only 100 meters away, with several charming bars and restaurants along it.

The view over the greenery and Gamboa beach is magical, and breakfast, all homemade, was delicious. I spent my vacation completely relaxed here. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and have air conditioning that works really well. Chic 'n Choc is a beautiful, welcoming pousada about a 10-minute walk from the pier. Everything is close by, including restaurants, beach loungers, canoeing, paddleboarding, a taxi boat, and the pink clay mountain used for cosmetics. Unforgettable.

The staff are dedicated, and the breakfast is very good. The location works well, though it’s a little way from the pier, which was okay. The pousada needs a substantial renovation and better conditions for guests. The showers should be replaced, and the bat situation in the bedroom ceilings needs to be checked.
