Pousada Lagoa Flat

The rooms are basic but clean, with bed linen, bath towels, and air conditioning. Getting to the beach is the downside: it’s around a 20-minute walk, and the place is a bit far from the busier part of the island.

It’s just a five-minute walk to the center of the island, but the pousada sits a little outside it, which makes nights very quiet and restful. We loved our stay and were warmly welcomed by the owner, who was very kind and ready to help with anything we needed. The apartment was clean and had everything for everyday use, including a new, spacious bathroom, a good-sized kitchen, and living room. We’d definitely stay here again if we return to morro de São Paulo. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The place was cozy, pretty, and very clean. There were no mosquitoes, though maybe that was just the season. My room had plenty of outlets, air conditioning, and a fan if you wanted to use it. There were chairs for eating, a little table, and a very clean fridge and sink, which was nice to use. There are a few grocery stores nearby. I thought the price was reasonable for the area in (morro de são paulo). I had two downsides. The farther route to the beach seems to be about 1km, while the closer one is 350 m, but the owner doesn’t recommend taking that trail when it rains. I was also a little bothered by a smell. My friend said that kind of smell was normal because the area is so humid.

The flat worked really well for me. It was quiet, peaceful, and felt safe to walk around. The bed and bath linens were clean, the kitchen had what I needed to make simple things like breakfast, and the air conditioning and internet TV worked very well. The main thing to know is that getting to the apartments involves a lot of uphill walking and stairs, so I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with mobility issues or who doesn’t like walking. There’s a small market, bakery, and pharmacy nearby, before you get to Morro’s little center. We were very warmly welcomed and treated well.
