Mikiki Lifestyle Hotel

If you like cold showers, this hotel is great. Otherwise, you have to hope the sun comes out, or you’re on your own. They told me the suites use solar energy to heat the water, and that there hadn’t been enough sun that day to heat the boiler. They said they’d check the building’s water temperature and apologized, explaining that even the boiler’s highest setting hadn’t been enough with the occupancy and prolonged rain. The reception is great, the staff are polite and welcoming, and the location is good. But whether you get hot water depends on the sun.

I’d give the hotel an 8.5. The housekeeping team, reception, kitchen staff, and waiters were good, and the location is good too. There’s room to improve the maintenance team and the outdoor pool area. The grass needed cutting, the pool was dirty and wasn’t being maintained, and they weren’t turning on the filtration pump. The sun loungers were dirty as well.

The location worked out perfectly for New Year’s: Mikiki is 250m from the restaurants and town buzz, close enough to walk over, but quiet when it’s time to rest. The beach is only 450m away too. We felt cared for from the moment we arrived, with a thoughtful welcome in the room. It was spotless and very comfortable, with a great bathroom, shower, and amenities. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit and juice every day, plus omelets, couscous, toast, cakes that changed daily, and waffles. Everything felt lovingly made. I also liked that it was served at the table to avoid waste. There were good lunch dishes as well. Thanks to Mari, Bruna, Rubens, Bibi, and Ramon for all the kindness. We had an amazing stay and hope to see you again soon. Wishing everyone a healthy and happy 2026, and many more years of welcoming guests so well.

We spent Christmas in Barra Grande for the first time, and Mikiki was a lovely place to stay. The room was beautiful and clean, and they’d put our photo by the headboard with a sweet note when we arrived. After each day at the beach, there was a little sweet waiting in the room, then tea before bed. The pool area was really nice, and breakfast was all made to order. Everyone who helped us was so friendly and ready to lend a hand. It’s close to the town center, but tucked away on the back streets, so it stays very quiet. I hope we can come back soon!
