We stayed for two weeks with my wife and son, and Guilherme was a great host. Vila Castanheiras worked really well for a longer stay: our bungalow had its own kitchen, there was also a shared outdoor kitchen with a second large fridge and a nice barbecue area, and we could do laundry in the washing machine. Parking was right beside the bungalows. At night it’s much quieter than the center of Barra Grande, though shops and a good, fairly priced sushi restaurant are nearby. The garden has a huge cashew tree, and the pool is great too. It gave us our own space while keeping us close to the busy village center. For kitesurfing, we found it best to go to the nearby beach in front of the Trabalha restaurant and set up there. It’s less crowded than the area in front of the overpriced BGK, and the wind is a little better. Try the octopus salad there ;) Thanks again, Guilherme. We’ll be back!

We loved our stay at Vila Castanheira. The room was clean and well equipped, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless and smelled fresh. The shower was fantastic, which is something that can be disappointing in BG. Guilherme gave us an incredible welcome, and the whole stay was impeccable from beginning to end. ✨

Guilherme and Luciara were wonderful, attentive, and helpful, and the chalet was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The pool was lovely too, and the location was good. What a charming place, our little corner of paradise. We’ll be back!

For a quiet, private stay in Barra Grande, this is ideal. The rooms are spacious, the decor is impeccable, and there’s a lovely connection with nature. The showers have plenty of water, which is rare in BG. Guilherme and Luciara’s endless kindness made the stay a uniquely peaceful and restful time.
