Hotel Santa Clara

Good.

We were really impressed by the service. Lucas greeted us when we arrived with so much kindness and courtesy, and later Antônio took over the shift and was just as helpful. Their recommendations made planning our activities easy, and they even acted as our tour guides. Many thanks as well to the housekeepers and the woman who prepares breakfast. We didn't get their names, but they were wonderful too. We loved the care we received. Glory to God.

We spent four nights at the hotel, and the quiet location was a real plus. There was no street noise, and parking was available on site. The receptionists were attentive, though two of their recommendations let us down: at one nearby restaurant we found a potato in the beans and left in a hurry. We also asked whether a mall with a train in front had restaurants inside, and were told it did. When we got there at 7:15 p.m., the mall was closed. Breakfast was simple and the same each day, so some variety would have helped. The juice was artificial. The mattresses badly need replacing. The Wi-Fi never worked in our room, so I couldn't connect to the TV. I had a two-year-old with me, which made that a major downside.

The hotel is simple, but clean, tidy, comfortable, and pleasant. Breakfast was very good, and Estefânia, who looks after it, is lovely and attentive. We were especially well looked after by Antônio. He welcomed us warmly, shared great tips about the city, and was always kind. We'd come back for the wonderful service we received.
