The basics were all there: clean rooms, quiet, a good shower, and air conditioning that worked well. The bedding looked worn at first, though it was clean and smelled fresh; the pillows were fine, but might be due for replacement. Breakfast was simple, tasty, and fresh, and Patricia will make scrambled eggs if you ask. There's also gated parking for anyone uneasy about leaving a car on the street. The dirt road to the inn didn't bother me at all. I actually preferred being away from the wild crowds downtown, where people seemed to have no manners, hygiene, or consideration for others. Finding a decent place to stay in Caldas Novas had been difficult. I found Pousada DuKalango by chance on Google Reviews and wanted to leave this in case it helps other people who might otherwise fall victim to the (pathetic) hotel scene in town, and helps Patrícia, the owner, who comes across as a good person. My wife and I arrived late at night after leaving the awful, horrific, detestable Alta Vista Thermas "Resort". Patrícia welcomed us warmly and offered to show us the room before we committed to staying. That small gesture showed confidence in what she was offering and, above all, empathy for our situation. Patrícia is such a lovely person, and the service is warm and helpful. The inn is quiet, clean, and well organized, with a balcony and hammocks for relaxing. The rooms have custom furniture, a minibar, really comfortable beds, and an electric shower with a great hot spray. Breakfast is generous, and they also offer pet family service. Highly recommend!

The breakfast was impeccable, everything was good quality, and the service was one of a kind. Patricia was welcoming and friendly, and gave us helpful tips on places to visit and things to do in town, which is great for a first-time visitor. The inn has modern, very cozy rooms too.
