Pousada Pedra da Lagoa Itacimirim

If you're looking for a quiet break from the city, this place has plenty of greenery around it, and fish in the pool. Just bring mosquito repellent. It's a long way from everything, so you'll need a car to get to the beach, a small grocery store, a pizzeria, or anywhere else. Without one, bring snacks and bottled water before you arrive. There are only a few ground-floor rooms, and pets are allowed except in the breakfast area. They have indoor and outdoor parking, breakfast, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a mini-fridge, but no TVs in the rooms. There's no reception desk; support is by phone, and a young man is there to help during the day.

Breakfast was the biggest letdown. Despite what the promotions showed, there were hardly any options for a proper meal: cuscuz for one person though there were four of us, sweet potato, passion fruit juice, salted crackers, and coffee. Other guests were complaining about the same things. We travel often and have stayed in plenty of inns and hotels, and this was the worst trip experience we've had in 20 years. I wouldn't recommend it. If you care about your money, peace, and trip, find somewhere else. The problems started when we arrived and were greeted in the service area, since there is no reception. The room had no TV, the bathroom was dirty, and we had to ask for sheets and towels. My 10-year-old son's pillow was stained with a lot of blood, so I had to ask for another one. The mirror was so out of focus it couldn't be used properly, the microwave didn't work, and the kitchen staff weren't welcoming. The outdoor lake area was always dirty, and the fish in the lake were the only interesting thing there. At night, the noise around the lake was extreme and made it hard to rest.

Sr. Torres and his son were so attentive and helpful throughout our stay, always ready to make sure we were comfortable. That care made a real difference. The pousada itself has good facilities, comfortable rooms, and air conditioning, with friendly service and a breakfast that suited us well. It's a peaceful place for relaxing, away from the bustle, and the price is good for what you get. Its location also let us enjoy the beach without rushing.

The breakfast had very few choices and wasn't to my taste, though the pousada itself is really nice. The staff were friendly, and José was very welcoming. There was a little kiosk open at night where you could order skewers, hamburgers, and juice. The rooms were clean and the place has a nice setup. There's a lagoon full of fish; I didn't go in, but my daughters liked it. Praia da Espera is nearby.
