Montanha Home

Casa Principal da Montanha Home is the house of my dreams. If we could, my family and I would buy it and live there. There are four spacious suites, so the whole family can stay comfortably, and the kitchen opens into the living room, which keeps everyone together. The living room itself is wonderful, with glass all around and a beautiful view of the mountains in Minas Gerais. The fireplace is cozy and works well. There’s room to walk and hike on the property, and there are lovely cold waterfalls in the area. We’re already planning to return. Looking at the photos makes me want to teleport back there. Larissa gave us fantastic service. She was patient, explained everything clearly, and was kind and easy to communicate with throughout. The caretakers, Mirian and Márcio, were also great. Márcio spent until 10 p.m. trying to fix the shower heater, staying helpful and cheerful the whole time. A few things to know, though they didn’t spoil the trip because we loved the house. The heater broke on the first day, leaving some bathrooms without hot water. The water ran out on December 31 and came back late in the morning on January 1. The jacuzzi wasn’t working, which we missed. The barbecue setup is a bit basic, but it did the job, and we made delicious meals on it. There are insects in the house all the time because it’s in nature. We didn’t mind, but it could bother someone who doesn’t like them.

The breakfast was a highlight, fresh and varied, with lots of tasty things made with care. Everyone was attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The trail was engaging and fun, too, and a nice way to get outdoors and enjoy nature. It’s a peaceful, beautiful place, a lovely refuge to relax, recharge, and have some special days.

We were so happy with our stay and the services we booked. The place is beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful, and Miriam and Marcio made it even nicer with their kindness, good manners, and readiness to help. They handled any little hiccup so it never became a problem. Breakfast was prepared with care, as was the horseback ride. The team supported us from the booking through all the little details, so we could enjoy every moment. Thank you!

The room has a fantastic view, and relaxing in the bathtub while looking out at the scenery felt restorative. The inn is cozy, the breakfast is delicious, and the team is always ready to help. We especially liked the fresh juice, cakes, homemade jam, and amazing cheese bread. It’s a wonderful spot for a weekend to unwind together and reconnect with nature. Just remember it’s out in nature: birds, roosters, crickets, and beetles are part of the soundscape, which I love. The inn is outside the center of Monte Verde, and the drive is on a dirt road. You don’t need a 4x4, though. To me, being away from the busy center, which gets crowded on weekends, is worth that drive. It was a lovely break from the city’s daily bustle and a chance for us as a couple to rest and reconnect. I highly recommend it and hope to return.
