Pousada Meribá

The owners were attentive and helpful, and the place was quiet, away from the parties. It’s cozy and close to the center, Vila de Chocolate, and Rua Coberta. The room and bathroom were a good size, and the bedding and everything else were very clean.

The breakfast is so good, and the setting is lovely, with lots of trees and a delightful pool. Service was very good. The rooms are simple but really comfortable. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re after somewhere peaceful. 👏👏👏

For the price and what you get, it’s well worth it, and I recommend it. My girlfriend and I found everything simple but nicely kept, and the people who helped us were very polite. Breakfast came in a set amount chosen by the staff, but we were both satisfied. Our room had a double bed, a single bed, a small wardrobe, an empty minibar where we could store a few things, and a clean bathroom with hot water.

Kaique and the rest of the team were excellent, really pleasant, and the room was very clean. It’s a shame, because the property could be well worth renovating, but it’s very old and poorly maintained. There were cracks in the room, and the shower was so low that at 1.79 I nearly had my head against it while bathing. The rooms don’t have TVs, and only some have air conditioning. Mine only had a fan, so on a bad day there’d be nothing to distract you. The breakfast area smelled strongly of mold, and breakfast came on a tray instead of being self-serve. I don’t like that, and if someone has a food intolerance, there’s no choice because it all arrives assembled. For the price, it really falls short. It’s disappointing to rate it so poorly when everyone was so nice and the place has a structure worth fixing. From what I could tell, people keep complaining about the same things and nothing gets addressed. Maybe the goal is money in the pocket instead of happy guests.
