Pousada Opas Haus

The service from the staff and owner was a highlight. They were welcoming and polite, and made us feel at home right away. The pousada is new, clean, fresh-smelling, and well organized throughout. Our spacious room had a fireplace ready to use and excellent-quality bedding. The bathroom was tidy, with a great gas shower. It’s well located for both relaxing and nearby outings, with roomy parking that made it easy to leave the car. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which matters since there’s no cell service in the area. A wonderful place, and I’ll definitely return.

What a lovely surprise this pousada was. The care shows in all the little details. Everything smelled fresh, and they even put lavender in the little vase in the room. I was charmed! Breakfast needs no explanation. The cheese with strawberry jam was worthy of a five-star place. We’ll be back many times. ❤️

When I think about a place to stay, I ask myself whether I’d want to come back. I want to return to Opas Haus again and again. It’s such a restful place. Bruna, my namesake, handled my first contact on WhatsApp. She explained everything clearly and gave us all the details we needed for a worry-free weekend. D. Neiva makes breakfast with so much love, and chatting with her and hearing family stories was a delight. There was fresh cheese bread, croissants, cake, biscuits, and amazing homemade strawberry jam. Our room was huge, beautifully decorated, and just the sort of place you want to lounge around and sleep in. The bedding was soft, the bath towels were excellent, and the fireplace was ready for a glass of wine with your love. The bathroom had windows looking out at nature and a wonderful bathtub. It was pleasantly cool at night, so no air conditioning was needed. I love decor, and that was another detail that charmed me. We ate around the neighborhood too: an affordable pizza, coffee at the bistro, lunch at the farm, and dinner in Monte Verde. I’ll be back soon for another weekend. Neiva is a wonderful host, and she makes a delicious breakfast herself with everything fresh. Breakfast is included in the rate. When we stayed, there wasn’t lunch or dinner service at the pousada. Nearby, though, we ate at a great Argentinian pizzeria and at cantina da Celina, which has lots of pasta and fondue options. You can eat really well for reasonable prices within 2 km of the pousada. One thing to know is that it’s in the countryside, 20 km along a dirt road from Rodovia Fernão Dias. We had no trouble on the road, but you have to drive slowly and be patient. The cottage, king-size bed, clean, fresh-smelling sheets and comforters, and Neiva’s kindness made it well worth it. I highly recommend it.
