Franca Maya Hostel

My son stayed for four nights while we looked for a place for him to live. The owners were very kind and helped him with everything he needed. It’s a peaceful spot, and he could walk along a path across the lake to Unicamp in about 15 minutes. There aren’t shops nearby, so ordering delivery at night is the better option. His room had a fan, and bedding and towels were provided. The bathroom was outside the room, though there are several room types to choose from. Air conditioning would be a worthwhile addition in the future.

The staff were a real highlight, so attentive and polite, and the kitchen is very well equipped. My double room was airy, clean, and spacious, and the wifi worked perfectly even though the room was farther back. The hostel is attractive and well organized, with a pool that I didn’t use because it was cold. It’s an easy 15-minute walk to UNICAMP (Barão Geraldo), which is exactly what I wanted. The neighborhood is peaceful despite all the student houses around, and I slept well all three nights. I’d absolutely stay again, and recommend it a lot.

I felt safe the whole time, and the owners were so welcoming even though I woke them at 2 a.m. I needed somewhere to sleep after a show when plans to stay with a friend fell through, and I wasn’t able to keep driving. I got a good night’s sleep and could continue my trip the next day. I’m very grateful they took me in at a difficult moment and charged an affordable price. I highly recommend it, especially to women traveling alone who need a safe place.

The place was clean, and I had a wonderful stay. From the first contact, Dona Iara's husband welcomed me warmly.
