Chateau Do Luar

The breakfast was nicely done, with a good selection of breads and cakes, plus a sandwich maker, juices, milk, and coffee. Reception was good, the man who helped us was polite, and the women in the kitchen were great. People around town were all friendly. The location is good at the city entrance, and it’s easy to drive to Capivari. My husband and I stayed for three days. The room was clean, and so were the bathroom and minibar. The shower worked well, with hot and cold settings you could adjust yourself. I did miss having a little table in the room in case we wanted to eat there. The wall was marked up, the sheets had stains, and the extra blanket didn’t smell very nice. There was also an armchair with a few black marks. None of that got in the way, but it looked a bit odd. The walls are really thin, like other reviews say. We could hear the couple next door having fun, haha. About the garage, getting in is easy enough, but getting out is tricky. The valet has to be skilled or you’ll have a headache.

The staff were helpful, and everything was very clean. The location was reasonable, and the rooms were spacious. But if you leave your door open, you can hear everything people say or do in the neighboring bathroom or room. The mattress is bigger than the bed base, so it looks like it might fall off. Breakfast was somewhere between okay and good, but service only starts at 8:30. If you’re an early riser, that’s a problem. I like getting up early to make the most of the day, so I thought that was awful. None of the breakfast items are labeled, so you have to guess what the juice, cake, syrup, or other things are. The car is left out in the open in the parking area, and its entrance is very narrow. If you’re a new driver or have a slightly larger car, you’re in for a hard time. There’s no water dispenser either. I wanted to fill my bottle before traveling and couldn’t. For what we paid, it didn’t feel up to par. If it rains, there’s nothing appealing to do. You’re stuck with the TV, which only has basic free-to-air channels.

It’s a decent guesthouse with clean rooms, an elevator, and good value for the money. The location works well, with shops nearby. The parking entrance is tight and takes some driving skill. Breakfast is only served at 8:30 in the morning, which is very late, especially in a tourist town where you want to get out and enjoy the day. The selection is basic too. Still, if you’re looking for good value, it’s a good option.

I loved the place. I stayed from Sunday 18/01/2026 through 22/01. It was very clean, and the room was airy. Every day they changed the towels and emptied the bins, and the beds were made. There were lots of breakfast choices, including different kinds of bread, cakes, and juices. The staff were kind and polite, and the location was very good.
