The rooms are good value and work well for families.

The house is old and could use some renovation in a few areas. The garden also needs a bit more attention. The property has potential, but it feels somewhat neglected and needs the owner to give it more care. The bathroom flush valve broke during my stay, followed by the water tank float. The host promptly offered to fix things, but since it was Saturday he couldn’t find a replacement valve to buy. It kept leaking all night, and we couldn’t use the toilet because it wouldn’t flush. Given the rates charged for accommodation in the city, I’d still recommend the place. Some things could be improved, but I do recommend it.

It met my needs perfectly. The setting was peaceful and well located, with parking and shops nearby.

Simone from housekeeping was very helpful, and the place itself is pleasant, with greenery and flowers. But the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and the address listed for the inn on booking was 1320, when the correct number is 1350. Taxi and Uber drivers refused to enter the property, probably because of difficulties dealing with the host, who has serious health problems. That meant walking up a long ramp, sometimes in the rain. Drivers also canceled rides when we asked them to come into the property. It’s about 1 km from the town center, but the walk back is all uphill and very steep. Cleaning was only done if a guest complained. We went three days without even having the bathroom trash emptied. The room was very dusty and the walls were moldy, which set off my son’s rhinitis. The towels and bedding didn’t seem clean and smelled used. During our eight-day stay, the room was cleaned only twice, both times after I complained. Simone was very helpful, but she only cleaned a guest’s room when the inn’s owner asked her to. Some nights the entrance door was locked, and other nights it was left open. They didn’t give guests a key. I was left outside with my son twice, and only got a key on our last day. One night I found the host on the floor, dealing with very serious health problems that I don’t want to describe here because I don’t want to expose him. He was alone at the inn overnight, looking after everything, or trying to. He was attentive to us on the first day, especially at check-in, but it was clear he wasn’t well enough to manage the place, let alone by himself, despite all his good intentions. Part of the wardrobe was taken up by very old, dusty clothes, and I couldn’t understand why they were there. We also went two days without toilet paper. I can’t recommend this experience.
