I’ve been coming to Monte Verde for years. This pousada is simple but cozy, and the owner, Sr.Jose, is very attentive. He allows late checkout, and the breakfast is incredible. Best of all, they accept just a one-night stay even in high season.

Everything was clean and well organized, and the place felt peaceful. It’s a simple inn with parking in the garage, just a few kilometers from Capivari. The owners go out of their way to make guests happy, and the service was a 10.

The staff were great, and breakfast was simple but tasty. The room looked cozy at first, and its small size wasn’t an issue for us, but the bed was awful and there weren’t enough blankets. We could hear everything through the nonexistent soundproofing. The tiny bathroom had a strong sewer smell and a shower with only two settings, summer and winter. The 20-inch tube TV had just three channels. My husband and I stayed one night this weekend, and that was enough to know we don’t want to return.
