Pousada Recanto Sião

We had a really good stay and would gladly come back. Gaspar handled our reservation over WhatsApp and was friendly and helpful. Seu Manoel was just as kind and attentive. We arrived late for check-in, and he was ready to help us. The room was cleaned and the towels changed daily. There was a hot shower, great Wi-Fi, and a TV with good streaming services. Breakfast was simple but enough for a good meal, and it ran from 9am to 11:30am. The neighborhood was peaceful, about 15-20 minutes from Capivari’s main avenue. One tip for the drive from Capivari: enter Recanto dos Portões as your reference point and follow the route from there. Waze also suggests a route through a neighborhood with a very narrow, difficult street.

I never managed to stay here. I’d booked through Booking and went over to pay because I was nearby. The place looked interesting, the photos were lovely, and even though the price was high, I thought I’d like it. But it’s far from everything, up a steep hill, and hard to find without Google Maps. When I got there, the owner told me there was no room and to look for another pousada. He said there’d been a problem but didn’t explain what happened. I was with my husband and son, and even offered to pay for all three of us and sleep in the double bed, but he still refused. I couldn’t find another vacancy anywhere, so I had to drive back to my city, 8 hours away. I was really upset. I couldn’t book ahead because we were just passing through town on a quick trip with no plans. If the room wasn’t available, I feel it should have been blocked on Booking.

The breakfast was delicious and fresh, and the host was very kind and attentive. The place was clean, organized, and cozy, and the staff took great care of us. My husband and I loved our stay and plan to return. It was a really positive experience, and I recommend it. The location was great, about 15 minutes by car from the center.

The hosts made us feel welcome, and the whole place was arranged with care, from reception to the breakfast area. Rooms are cleaned daily and towels are changed. The bed was so comfortable it felt like it was hugging you. It’s about 20 minutes from Capivari and quite close to Cervejaria Baden Baden. We had an amazing stay, a real home-away-from-home.
