VELINN Pousada Chateau do Luar Prime

The breakfast was delicious, with a good selection of breads and cakes and quality food. Our room was spacious and clean, and the shower had great pressure and temperature. The hotel is charming and well maintained, with an entrance I thought was beautiful and a vintage Christmas movie feel. It's well located and has a garage, which is handy if you're driving. The staff were always friendly and helpful during our stay. The one downside was the TV: it wasn't a smart TV, so I couldn't access apps like Prime Video or Netflix.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Campos do Jordão at Pousada Château do Luar Prime, and we have nothing but praise for the place. The service, room, breakfast, location, and staff were all wonderful. Special thanks to the receptionists William Ferreira, Marli, and the other William. They treated us so well every day and suggested some very good restaurants and tourist spots. We're sincerely grateful to everyone at Pousada Château do Luar Prime. We were welcomed warmly, and I slept really well. The room was clean, spacious, heated, and had a TV, and the bed was very comfortable. The large bathroom has a gas heater for the shower and sink, but the temperature takes some figuring out. You need to open both hot and cold taps together to get the water where you want it, including at the sink. Breakfast was generous, varied, and very good, and everyone was polite. The downside was room service: over our three days, nobody came to replace soap, dry towels, toilet paper, or anything else. Wi-Fi also barely worked on the TV. I spent hours trying to load YouTube or Netflix, with no luck. Apart from those issues, our stay was great, and my family and I ate well and were treated very well.

The receptionist who worked mornings and afternoons was attentive and very helpful. The hotel itself seemed well maintained, and the entrance was lovely, so I got some nice photos. Our room was spacious, clean, and excellent for two people with lots of belongings. The shower also had great pressure and temperature. But our room was on the first floor and there was no elevator, so we had to carry our own bags up the stairs. The air conditioner either wasn't working properly or couldn't heat the room enough. There was only one poor-quality blanket in the room. The front desk told us we could get more from a cupboard at the end of the hall, but we took just one and were cold overnight because we felt awkward taking extras. Breakfast was disappointing: very few breads and cakes, with plates and cutlery scattered around the serving table and hard to find. Sugar, cream cheese, and jam were in shared containers instead of individual packets. I had to bring my bread to the table, cut it, then make room for my plate before spreading the cream cheese. The dining area was tiny, maybe ten tables at most. For what we paid, it wasn't worth it.
