Açu Hotel

There aren't any restaurants or shops near the hotel, so don't expect to find much outside. It's a short drive from the Açú Installations, which makes it handy if you're joining a vessel or working at the port. The staff are very friendly, though most don't speak English. The buffet is fresh and tasty, but there's not much variety in the meat dishes. Rooms have simple furnishings and materials, but they're spotless, well kept, and well designed. The whole hotel is clean and cared for.

On my return for five days last week, the hotel had got a little worse, and I found the room prices expensive. The buffet is gone, and the menu is very limited and not really good. The room also had humidity problems, with towels staying moist, most likely because the airco gets switched off when you leave. On my earlier stay, the rooms were small but clean, and the service was okay, though laundry took longer than expected. There's nothing to do or go to outside the hotel, so you're stuck with their restaurant and bar. If you're staying there, you probably work at the port anyway, and it's the closest option. The hotel is at the entrance to superport Açu.

The bed was comfy, the food was good, and reception were friendly. Handy if you're working at the Port.

It's a great hotel, though it's in a very remote location.
