Hotel Pousada dos Chalés

The photos don’t match what we found, and if I could give zero stars, I would. The whole place felt neglected, from the unfinished-looking exterior with materials left lying around to the dirty reception and common areas. We arrived at night and the dark passageway, which looked like an alley, made us feel unsafe and gave us a strong sense of abandonment. We looked at three rooms because the first one was already unacceptable, with a dusty old tube TV. Every room had serious problems: visible dirt and dust, a filthy fan that didn’t work, and a shower with barely any pressure, just a thin trickle. There was a constant drain or sewage noise at night, and insects in the room, including ants, flies, and even a wasp. The old air conditioner had been installed in a makeshift way, with a hole covered by wood and exposed wiring. We didn’t dare turn it on. The sheets and pillows were in terrible shape, stained and looking like they had dust mites. Even the drinks in the fridge for sale were warm, as if the equipment wasn’t being switched on properly. Breakfast was embarrassing: mostly just bread and margarine, dried-out cold cuts, very watery juice, and plastic cutlery and cups. That didn’t fit what the place presents itself as, especially with a “premiação” award sign on display. We politely tried to sort things out and asked for a discount. They blamed the guest and offered only R$20, which was unacceptable given how uncomfortable, dirty, and unsafe the stay felt. The amount we paid was nowhere near worth what we got. The photos show what I’ve described. I don’t recommend it to anyone.

We went in June, stayed Saturday night, and came back Sunday. My husband and I had a wonderful time and really liked the place. It was calm and peaceful. The staff were attentive, breakfast was very good, and we had a delicious lunch by the pool. We ordered pizza that evening, too.

The place was awful and nothing like what was advertised. The rooms weren’t cleaned, there were spiders and other bugs, the tube TV was outdated, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We got a shock as soon as we arrived. I booked one place online and was given somewhere completely different. The doorbell didn’t work, so we waited out front for several minutes with no one answering. Then an employee drove up and opened the gate without even looking at us, which made me feel brushed off. The atmosphere wasn’t warm or cozy, and the restaurant barely seemed like a restaurant. We went out to eat, but when we came back, I called out at the entrance and nobody answered, so I had to push the gate open myself. At 8:30 p.m. we went to the restaurant for dinner. I was told dinner ran until 10, but the food had already run out. The kitchen area looked dirty and completely unsuitable, and the staff were extremely rude. Our room was ugly and poorly maintained. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi they’d told me about didn’t work in our room, and the smart TV wasn’t working either. I could only find one channel, and it was all static. In the double room, there was just one towel and one bar of soap. Breakfast was the bare minimum. The day before, I tried to buy water and they had none for sale. Then at breakfast I asked for a glass of water, and there wasn’t any. I wouldn’t recommend it. It could have been a really cozy place, but unfortunately it was the opposite.
