Pousada do Porto

After a tiring day at work, I got to my room and couldn’t even go in because the sewage smell was so strong. The whole experience was awful. I’m never coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the place was peaceful. The staff were attentive and always ready to help. It’s especially convenient if you work at Porto do Açu, with a good location and setup for a work trip. I’d recommend this pousada.

The apartments look out over nature, and there’s a mezzanine with hammocks that are great for relaxing. The barbecue area is fully equipped, and the apartment’s air conditioning gets very cold. The whole pousada feels cozy, starting with the warm welcome at reception. There’s also a well-stocked little shop selling souvenirs and all kinds of products. The owners, dona Patricia and seu Junior, treat guests like family, and their care makes the stay really pleasant. The restaurant has a lovely rustic look that makes you feel away from the city’s traffic and stress. There’s a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, served very cold. Felix and Karen, the couple working there, were great, and the kitchen team was excellent too. The food menu is extensive, and the snacks were delicious. I recommend the CAPITÃO burger, it’s big enough to satisfy two people.

I found Pousada do Porto well organized and comfortable, with a reliable setup for people coming to work at Porto do Açu. It’s in Cajueiro, São João da Barra, which makes the daily commute easier for professionals in the area. The rooms are well looked after, the surroundings are quiet, and the breakfast works well when you have to head out early. Service was quick, too.
