casas joaninha 2

We stayed one night at Casa Joaninha. I don't mind a simple house, but it was really cold inside since it's wooden and has no heater, even a portable one. The shower was icy and wouldn't warm up at all, so taking a shower was hard. They really need to sort out the hot water and provide a portable heater.

Loved it! A simple house with what you need: a TV, Wi-Fi, cutlery, bed linens, and parking. 💕💘

We knew the house was simple and far from the center when we rented it, and that part was fine. What wasn't okay was the lack of basics: no toilet paper, towels, salt, or cooking oil. The Wi-Fi listed in the ad didn't work during either of our stays, and the water was off both mornings. The lights in both bedrooms were faulty; a technician came during our stay but fixed only one room. There was also a hole in the floor of the other bedroom, which I covered with a rug to keep insects out. The Google photos showed sofa covers and a rug in the living room, but neither was there when we arrived. I'm not fussy, but some common sense would have helped. The stove doesn't work with electricity, and there was no lighter. That should be mentioned, since not everyone smokes or carries one around.
