Update: this isn't about 'free breakfast', 'blackmailing' or 'trashing' the hotel. Their replies justify what we said; they don't deny it. This is an overpriced apartment-hotel with no real infrastructure, not a hotel in the usual sense, and there's no breakfast. Even the cheapest, smallest pousadas in Gramado/Canela serve it. The property is far from everything, with no grocery stores nearby, yet they don't even provide basic coffee, sugar, milk, or tea. The bars and restaurants aren't operating either. When something goes wrong or you need help, reception says it isn't responsible because you booked with the owner. You have no idea who that person is, and they don't live there. We booked through a well-known hotel booking site, not AirBnB, and the listing said “Hotel” Laje de Pedra Mountain Village Prime, with no mention of a particular owner. It also shows photos of different apartments, but they say you can't switch rooms because you booked one specific unit. A 75-year-old woman fell off the sofa bed while sleeping because it was so narrow. Poor value and very bad customer service.

The panorama is the real draw here, easily the most stunning in town, and it's peaceful without the tourist crowds. There are business groups around, though. The food is nothing special, and the waiters could stand to learn what funghi means.
