Hotel Mar e Sol - Capão da Canoa

Great.

The pool was dirty and poorly maintained, with very tall grass around it and insects. Drunk people were outside the hotel late into the night, shouting and drinking, and someone in the next room was using drugs. We stayed here twice before and had a really good experience when Kelvin was the owner, but our third visit was awful. Everything was dirty, the fridge was in terrible shape, and I came out of the shower feeling dirtier than before. The old beds were worn, furniture looked like it could fall and hurt someone, the bathrooms were filthy, the old tube TV didn't even work, and the sheets were worn too. Back then it was cleaner, organized, and family-friendly. Now it feels like a dive bar. I had to go across the street, crying, to ask for a room for my family at ilha bela, and Francisca helped me. I suggest going there instead. Report this hotel. The website photos are from the previous owner, which is why they look nice.

The place was filthy, and the advertising is very misleading. The bathrooms were disgusting, with ants and other insects, and the showers were held in place with electrical tape, which seemed like a serious fire risk. The rooms were dirty too, with old sheets, a rusty stove, a filthy sink, a torn sofa, and utensils that no one who cares about their safety would use. I doubt this place even has an operating license. Stay away from this dump.

The owners do try to be helpful, but nothing seems to work and the furniture is in terrible condition. What I saw was completely different from the advertising photos. There was also no consistency on prices among the employees: I got a discount on WhatsApp, but the employee who checked me in took it away. The pool is still in decent shape, though without maintenance it could soon be lost too. It's sad to see the business in this state.
