Pousada do Batata

Great.

The pousada really is fantastic and looks just like the photos. It's near the center, though the boat tours are a little farther away, around a 30-minute drive. The staff were friendly and attentive. My one letdown was breakfast. They asked which room I was in, which made it seem like breakfast was being prepared to order, but both mornings had the same options: the same cake and bread. They could improve that a bit.

The rooms were spotless, and the place was clean, organized, and cozy, just like the photos. The staff were excellent, and breakfast was wonderful, well served, and tasty. I'd seen comments about limited variety, but that wasn't a problem for us. The steep uphill approach was peaceful and not hard to manage. I wasn't as keen on the set hours for the waterfall, bar, hot tub, and sauna. It might work better if those were available according to how many guests were staying. Still, you can stay here without worry.

A leak in the garage damaged part of my car. The drips were from pool chlorine mixed with lime from the slab. When I contacted the owner to see if there might be a solution, he said he was recording the call. That kind of threat doesn't scare me, I'm always polite, and apparently he must have liked my voice, haha. In the end, I'll have to cover the loss myself. Several other cars there those days were damaged too, but each of us is stuck with our own loss.
